Lauren Donaldson

Lauren Donaldson joined the firm of Prim & Mendheim in 2015. A native of Opp, Alabama, she graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Print Journalism. She received her law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham.

 

After Undergrad, Lauren worked for a local newspaper covering various beats

for the paper. Through this experience, she was exposed to how the law affects real people, and it served as a catalyst to her journey to become an attorney.

During law school, Lauren volunteered with the Birmingham Bar’s VLP Domestic Relations Help Desk, and also worked closely with a local women’s and children’s shelter.

 

Upon her graduation from Cumberland, Lauren chose to move back and begin her law career in the area where she was raised—the Wiregrass. Lauren is active in the State Bar’s Volunteer Lawyer’s Program and Wills for Heroes clinics. She co-authored, “Double Sentence: The Consequences Incarcerated Mothers Face and the Impact on Their Children,” for the ABA Criminal Justice Section’s publication The State of Criminal Justice 2016. She is also a volunteer attorney with The Clemency Project since 2014.

 

Lauren practices primarily in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation and family law, including divorce and post-divorce issues such as custody, child support, relocation, alimony and division of marital assets; adoption; prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements; and juvenile court issues such as paternity and abuse and neglect cases. Lauren is also a certified Guardian Ad Litem and frequently represents children in domestic and dependency matters.
